There are times where a webmaster is faced with the decision to change their web hosting service due to unavoidable issues. This process can sometimes be difficult when a user needs to learn how to use a new control panel and familiarize themselves with the new interface. Transferring from one provider to another will also cause your website to stop for a moment and it is best if you can keep this time as short as possible. With the Plesk control panel, users will be able to take control if they decide to change host. If both your new and old provider provides Plesk, your transition will be a breeze.
The most common problem when changing provider is the problem with the loss of data. This problem occurs because of the TTL (Time to Live). The TTL is not instant and cause data to be loss. However, this problem can be avoided if you change a few settings at least 24 hours before you relocate your website. To do this, you need to log into your Plesk account and select the domain. Then, select the DNS settings for the domains that you want to transfer. Then, select the SOA record and change the Default TTL to 900 seconds or 15 minutes. Once you have done that, click SET to complete the process. Doing this will let you minimize the downtime and data loss during your transition.
